A more flexible stock rule

The objective remains eight complete same-suit King-to-Ace runs. The game still uses 104 cards in ten columns. Choose one suit, two suits or four suits using the game controls. Relaxed Spider on gzsupports.com permits stock deals while columns are empty.

Deal into empty columns

Keep these points in mind. The relaxed stock rule does not allow mixed-suit groups to move together. A stock card dealt to an empty column becomes that column's first face-up card. The relaxed stock rule does not change the rank requirement for ordinary moves. An empty column no longer prevents a stock deal in this variant.

Ten columns and a stock

Keep these points in mind. The first four columns have six cards each and the remaining six have five. The stock contains fifty cards for five later deals. The opening tableau contains 54 cards. Only the bottom card of each opening column is face up.

Move a single card

An Ace cannot receive a lower-ranked card. An exposed card may land on another exposed card exactly one rank higher. A King needs an empty destination because no rank is higher. The two cards do not need to share a suit for a single-card placement.

Move a group

Here are the details for this mode. Same-suit building can reduce the work needed to separate mixed sequences later. A break in rank prevents the entire selected group from moving together. A suit change can leave a smaller movable group at the bottom of a column. A descending group moves as a unit only when every selected card shares a suit.

Keep space available

Any exposed card or legal same-suit group can occupy an empty column. You may preserve an empty column until you decide to deal from the stock. A new stock row fills every empty column with one card. Empty columns remain useful for separating temporary mixed builds.

Bring in another row

A few details help explain this feature. Undo restores the previous arrangement when the stock-deal snapshot is available. A stock deal places one card onto each of the ten columns. Dealing can block an existing sequence as well as reveal new combinations. You cannot direct an individual stock card to a chosen destination.

Clear the table

Keep these points in mind. The game removes a complete run automatically at the bottom of a column. Eight collected runs are required to finish Relaxed Spider. A complete run contains thirteen face-up cards in one suit from King to Ace. Changing the number of suits does not change the number of required runs.

Here are the details for this mode. Replay restores the same shuffle for another attempt. Hints identify legal options without guaranteeing a win. Random relaxed deals are not presented as guaranteed solvable. New game creates a fresh shuffle in the selected suit setting.
